Gilly Darbey

Here are some useful and not so useful but interesting links:

Maartin Allcock:
Maart is a fantastic musician who can play almost any instrument really well and makes me spit!! He has accompanied many famous names including Jethro Tull, Midge Ure, Danny Thompson and Ralph Mctell. He also writes music and has written and played on many famous TV themes. Check out his web site for even more famous things he's done!! Would you believe Maart is a great cook too and bakes wonderful bread, you can find recipes on his web site.

Liz Frencham:
I first met Liz in Oz when I fell in love with Jigzag and their music. Liz has a solo CD out now which is just beautiful, Liz is beautiful!!

Julia Fordham:
A good friend for many years. Julia has had some success including a hit single and appearances on TOTP. She has a gorgeous voice and also writes all her own stuff. Larry Klein, Joni Mitchels producer also produced one of Julias CD's. Julia now lives in Santa Monica give her voice a listen!

Blue Moon Studios:
Where I made Blues Movin' In. A great studio, comes highly recommended by Maart Allcock and many others.

Sugarland Slim:
I saw Sugarland slim at Cropredy 2001 and ended up jamming with them at the backstage party untill 7am. They are fabulous. A Delta blues band with a big future. So young and sooo talented!

Keith Donnelly
As far as I'm concerned, and I know many others share my view, Keith is a genius. One of the best songwriters around. He writes both serious and comedy songs. He has written for Jasper Carrott and Phil Cool. His serious songs nearly always make me cry. He is a brilliant performer, quite mad in fact. Everyone who has ever been to a festival will have at some point seen Keith in compare mode, including Glastonbury and Cropredy.

Rory Ellis:
I met Rory at the Majors Creek Festival in Australia. He went down a storm!! Rory has an amazing voice, think Neil Diamond with mollasses and treacle poured on and great stage presence. He's hoping to tour over here so check him out!!

The Mussel Inn:
My favorite cafe/bar/gig venue in the world. A cross between Bagdhad Cafe and Northern Exposure. I had an amazing stay there when on tour in New Zealand. If you are ever down there and can get to the Mussel Inn, Takaka, South Island you are in for a treat!

MDM Music:
Nice little shop in Warwick town centre for all your musical needs. Every time I go in there I meet lots of people I know, so always end up having a bit of a chinwag!! Pretty good for selling and buying second hand equipment too.

Anna Ryder:
Brilliant singer-songwriter, cool website. Anna has a unique approach to songwriting and plays a multitude of instruments, all brilliantly....spit again!

Nizlopi:
Luke Concannon and John Parker. Two young lads who write, sing and play amazingly. They have a new CD out and its brilliant.

Jigzag:
A three piece I fell in love with (so did the audience)when I first saw them at a festival in Austalia. We've since become friends and I love them more each time I see them.

Damon Davies:
Damon is fantastic. Great instrumentalist, great songs and a wild and whacky stage presence. Another superb Australian performer.

Mike Silver:
Mike has a wonderful voice and writes beautiful songs that make me cry, if he keeps practising he will be okay on the guitar too!! Tee Hee!!.

Kristina Olsen:
Kristina is hugely respected throughout the world for her songwriting, singing and multi instrument playing. A real roller coaster of emotions to watch her perform. A very talented lady indeed.

Please Y'Self:
I first met this band out in the Falkland Islands and we have been firm friends ever since. Recently went to their 30th anniversary and they played a storm!! Mad punk skiffle.
